Pipeline Route Surveys
A pipeline route survey is similar to any route survey. The main difference is the location of the existing pipelines and other underground utilities that must be properly located for the construction of a new pipeline.
This is another area that we have really helped our clients save a great deal of time and money as we use our historical data stored in our GIS base map to assist as a planning and a communication tool. Many times, rough routes can be made based on our base map of the project area, as we show parcels (in many cases), always the Survey Abstracts, topographic data, aerial data, streets, waterways, city limits, and much more, so that clients have a better idea of what is “in the way” as route choices and decisions are made.
Pipelines are route surveys and each one is unique. That is why all our work is done on (repeatable) State Place Coordinates and is stored in our Company GIS. We are efficient in producing "proposed route" maps. We have the entire State of Texas in our GIS database, containing imagery and other valuable layers that help in original or alternative route choices.
