WHAT is a Survey?
Surveys determine the legal boundaries of a tract of land. They are used by buyers, sellers and title companies when it is necessary to divide up property and are usually required when property changes hands.

WHAT do Surveys cost?
Each job is billed on an individual basis and can range anywhere from a few hundred dollars to thousands based on the extent of the job.

WHEN would I need a survey?
Possibly at the time of sale of any property or plot of land. Copies of most surveys are on file in your local county courthouse.

WHO can perform a survey?
Valid surveys must contain the signature and seal of a Registered Professional Land Surveyor for that state. Each state has its own registration process and set of standards.

HOW can I become a surveyor?
New legislation requires a 4 year degree in a surveying related field to be eligible for a license. Texas A&M University –Corpus Christi is the only school in Texas offering a degree in Geomatics (surveying). Visit our Careers page to learn more.
