Young and Associates and Digital Mapping Services provide turnkey professional services from Oil and Gas Lease Mapping, Parcel Mapping, Well location surveys, Pipeline surveying and engineering design with the use of a GPS (Global Positioning System) network that provides “Real Time GPS” positions that are “Survey Grade.”  Using this GPS technology allows Young and Associates and Digital Mapping Services to provide unmatched service with this technology combined with our growing team of “high performance” professionals. 

The synergism of Digital Mapping Services and Young and Associates adds more value to our services as we can map the leases using Digital Aerial Photography as a Base Map which is part of their ever growing GIS Base Map of Texas, which All projects end up being a part of.  The plat or map “turn around” is greatly increased which is always important when our clients need regulatory permits which our deliverables are used for in many cases.  It is common to get 2 day turn-a-round well plats, and pipeline ownership plats in a 5 – 10 days in most cases.

Our GIS Base Map allows both companies to produce “Survey Accurate” coordinates (Earth Addresses) for all projects, no matter the datum or projection.  Most well locations are NAD27 (North American Datum – 1927), while the pipeline surveys are delivered on another Texas Coordinate System, NAD83 (North American Datum – 1983) which the State of Texas Railroad Commission and the (NPMS) National Pipeline Mapping Standards accept for Regulatory and Compliance needs at the State level.  There are also DOT (Department of Transportation) Compliance needs of our clients, which once again is served by the synergy of Young and Associates for the Land Surveying and Digital Mapping Services for the GIS (Geographic Information Services).

By combining the talents and skills of the teams along with the most current GPS and GIS technologies, we help our clients meet their daily needs in the areas of regulatory needs and compliance in the areas of T4 mapping for the Texas Railroad Commission which regulates the oil and gas industry in the State of Texas

Our companies have great pride in developing products like county map books which are rich with data from many sources, greatly increasing the quality of the communication within our client companies.  We also created a Survey and GIS product for Energy, Water, and Waste Water applications called “Base Map in a box.”  This allows our clients to start with a more useful base map product to add their leases, new well locations, legacy data, and whatever facilities they are managing, using ESRI software and data developed by our companies.
